My Observations...

My All-Time Favorite Movies

I love watching movies and discussing them. So, when my friend challenged me to jot down my list of favorites based on genre, I accepted the challenge. I'm sure I forgot to mention a few, but this will suffice for now:

ACTION:

The Jason Bourne Trilogy

True Lies (love watching this action comedy with my childhood friend Tabitha)

Taken

Rocky (It's not how hard you hit, but how hard you can be hit and keep on moving)

Casino Royale (Fast cars, cool gadgets, beautiful women, and this Bond gets his hands dirty)

Braveheart

Ronin (What's inside the package is not important. Who wants the package is.)

Body of Lies (Most realistic CIA film I've seen yet)

ADVENTURE:

National Treasure

Indiana Jones

Back to the Future Trilogy

The Ghost and the Darkness

Out of Africa

WESTERN:

Tombstone ("You called down the thunder...")

Unforgiven (It's quite possible my favorite movie line ever is in that movie. Here it is.)

WAR:

We Were Soldiers Once

Flyboys

Full Metal Jacket

Taking Chance

DRAMA:

Spy Game (Operation Dinner Out)

Scent of a Woman (HOORAH!)

Doubt (The facts are presented. You be the judge.)

Forrest Gump (Awesome how they tied everything together!)

Something the Lord Made (1st black man to perform open-heart surgery)

The Devil's Advocate (When you work for the Devil, you lose no matter what!)

Life is Beautiful (Uplifting and inspiring how great the father's love was)

Slumdog Millionaire (Your life experiences make you who you are)

The Wrestler (Life is not all rainbows and sunshine!)

Up in the Air (Gender stereotypes reversed!)

MARTIAL ARTS:

Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story

Ong-Bak

Hero

Bloodsport

Kickboxer

Best of the Best

COMEDY:

Meet the Parents (Jack talk Thai very well!)

Mr. Destiny (The grass is not always greener…)

Office Space (I wouldn't say I've been "missing" work)

The Big Lebowski

Fletch ("There are no tags on this mattress.")

National Lampoons Christmas Vacation

National Lampoons European Vacation (truly appreciated it more after living in Europe)

The Hangover

Dodgeball ("If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.")

FANTASY:

Lord of the Rings (My precious…)

Pirates of the Caribbean

Terminator II

Men in Black III

Willow (was my absolute favorite when I was in 2nd grade)

HORROR:

The Exorcism of Emily Rose

Mothman Prophecies

The Conjuring (the scariest movie I've ever seen in the theater!)

RELIGIOUS

The Passion of Christ (Incredibly moving, but difficult to watch.)

I Can Only Imagine

CARTOONS:

Thunder Cats (favorite cartoon growing up)

TV:

The Office

Dallas

Seinfeld

Wings

Sons of Anarchy

Air Crash Investigations

Psychic Detectives

NCIS (although I haven't seen the last several seasons)

Homicide Hunter (his book was even better. My review of it here.)

Shark Tank

Stranger Things

And the winner goes to... If I could have written the screenplay for any movie, it would be for "Mr. Holland's Opus."
