My thoughts on life, movies, and books...

Movie Review: "The Last Full Measure"

"The Last Full Measure" is a true story about a group of Vietnam veterans who tried for over 30 years to get an Air Force pararescueman awarded the Medal of Honor. During one of the bloodiest battles of the Vietnam war, soldiers cried out to God for help and they saw an angel descend from a helicopter. That angel was US Airman William Pitsenbarger Jr. This all-star cast and plot highlight the nastiness of politics, the ugliness of war, the tragedy of PTSD, but go beyond all that to show the heroism and spirit of laying your life down for over 60 strangers, and how just one life can impact generations of people. Why did President Eisenhower once remark that he'd rather be a Medal of Honor recipient than US President? Watch the show.
